Who are our providers?
Every member of our staff has a clinical background focused on providing therapy in individual, couples, and family realms. Our providers hold PhDs or PsyDs, MSWs or Masters in Counseling, and many have decades of experience providing outpatient therapy. Most of our clinical staff has lived overseas, and those who have not have significant experience treating the international community.
How does payment work and can I be reimbursed by my insurance?
The services at Truman Group are provided fee-for-service and our rates will be discussed during your initial consultation. Your credit card will be billed for each visit, and you will be provided a monthly statement that you can submit to insurance for reimbursement if you choose to do so. Insurance coverage is variable. If you would like to use your health insurance, check with your insurance provider before beginning treatment to determine what services will be covered by your plan. The following are some questions you may want to ask:
- Do I have Telehealth mental health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met? Do I have a copay or coinsurance?
- How many sessions per year are covered?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Are there any requirements regarding clinical licensure?
Can you bill my insurance directly?
At this time, we are not able to offer direct billing to insurance. Most insurance providers offer coverage for mental health sessions held virtually, and it is likely that you can receive insurance reimbursement for some or all of your Truman Group fees in most cases.
Is remote therapy private/confidential?
The Truman Group takes care to protect the privacy of our clients. The technology we use to meet with clients and store client charts is all HIPAA-compliant. We will never share your information without your express permission.
What happens during an intake consultation?
During the intake consultation, you will meet with one of our Intake Coordinators to discuss what you are experiencing and ways that we might be able to help. We will answer any questions you have as well as discuss your scheduling preferences so we can match you with a clinician in our group who is best suited to meet your needs. This consultation has no charge and generally lasts 30 minutes. If you are seeking therapy for your child, we ask that they be present for a part of the conversation.
Can I choose my clinician?
After meeting for an intake consultation, your Intake Coordinator will select a clinician that is a good fit for you based on your location/time zone and your therapy goals. We will take your requests into consideration when making this selection. If at any time you feel your clinician is no longer a good fit for you, please provide that feedback to your clinician. Your clinician can work with you to determine if working together is still productive or if reassignment to another TG clinician is appropriate.
What is your cancellation policy?
The Truman Group asks that you cancel appointments with 24-hour notice to avoid being charged for a missed session. You will be charged a cancellation fee for any no show or late canceled sessions.
Why didn’t I receive a response to my email?
You should generally receive a response to your email within 24 hours. Occasionally emails between new contacts will be mistakenly marked as spam, so it’s possible that your email or our response has been filtered into a spam folder. If you have not received a response, feel free to forward your initial message to our practice manager team for assistance in reaching the correct party.
